First Baptist Church of Ontario where she was a Lay Minister, Sunday School teacher for over 50 years, Bible Study Leader, member of the American Baptist Association, active in the Wayne County
Girl Scouts and Birthright of Ontario.
Survived by her daughter, Marianne Nelson of Ontario; son, Gary (Jane) VerDow of Fairport; grandchildren, Shelley (Chris) Tengvall, Jaime (Shane) Halbrook, Eric (Marcie) Nelson, Brent Nelson, Christine Nelson, and friend Kelly Hall and Bob Hollis; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Brianna and new arrival in March; sisters, Adele Bailey of Victor, Joan (James) Schultz; aunt, Peg Pembroke of Marion; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends. Predeceased by parents, Edward and Anna (VanGee) Tack; and beloved husband, J. Garth VerDow 1999. (THE SUN AND RECORD, October 26, 2000)
