Easter Mae Mitchell, age 89 of Vinita, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 02, 2012. Easter was born in Vinita on April 16, 1922 the daughter of Edgar and Goldie (Woolman) Echols. On February 22, 1945 she was united in marriage to Harley Mitchell and together they raised two sons. Easter enjoyed gardening, going on church trips, fishing, watching old westerns and especially cooking. She was a member of the Family Praise Center.
Survivors include her husband Harley Mitchell of the home, sons Lonnie Mitchell and wife Paula of Vinita and Jesse Mitchell and wife Marti of Welch, grandchildren Christian Mitchell, Zachary Mitchell, Cooper Mitchell, and Clay Mitchell, sister-in-law Eunice Echols, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Edgar and Goldie Echols, siblings Jessie Echols, Edgar "Hap" Echols, Everett Echols, Edward Echols, Henry Echols, Geneva Bartley, and Albert Echols.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the Family Praise Center Church with Pastor Jerry Ogden officiating. Interment will follow at Pheasant Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
