Naomi Eckman Barrow died Thursday, July 24, 2003 at her home in Alliance, Nebraska, at the age of 91. She was born August 5, 1911 on a homestead five miles north of Antioch in Sheridan County to John and Mary (Bauer) Eckman. Along with her younger sister Veta, the family moved to a ranch 32 miles northeast of Alliance in 1919, where Naomi spent her remaining childhood. This ranch is still owned by the family. She graduated from Alliance High School in 1930. On February 1, 1936 she married Frank Barrow in Alliance. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Alliance Eagles Auxiliary #136 where she had served as past-president.
Her survivors include many cousins in the Alliance area. Her parents, husband, sister Veta Hargrove preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Stephen Roosa officiating. Burial was in the Alliance Cemetery.
