Obituary, Florida Times-Union, February 2, 2012
Marie DeWolf Braswell, 93 years young, began her journey to her eternal home to meet her Lord, and her darling Woody, on Monday, January 30, 2012. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida, to Muriel Isabel Randall DeWolf and Joseph Harry DeWolf, on October 28, 1918. Marie was the beloved mother of Wade Braswell (Etwinda), Beth Roberts (John), and Penney Baker (Bill). She was a wonderful grandmother to David Braswell (Janice), Mike Braswell (Cary), Annette Stowers (Russ), Marie Baker and Christine Baker, and she was blessed with five great grandchildren, Jadie Braswell, Sean Braswell, Myla Braswell, Raven Stowers, and Woodrow Woody Rose.

Marie was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty two years, William Woodrow Braswell. She lived in the house that her devoted Woody built for her and named Woodmar in the Pines for sixty blissful years. Marie was an artist who painted thousands of beautiful oil paintings for her friends and family throughout the years. She signed her paintings Mozinka, a nickname given to her as a child by her father, meaning All the beauty of spring. Marie was a founding member of Faith Lutheran Church, who dedicated her life to serving the Lord. Her youthful sense of humor kept her young, and her caring spirit will keep her in the hearts of everyone she touched.

The family will receive guests from 9:30am-11:00am, on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Faith Lutheran Church, 5927 Old Timuquana Road, followed by a service to celebrate Marie Braswell's life officiated by Pastor Dan Kilts. Interment will be at Riverside Memorial Park. Friends and family will gather for food and drinks at the Faith Lutheran Church social hall after the graveside service. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or to Northeast Florida Community Hospice. Marie will be greatly missed by her family, friends and her caregivers; furthermore, she loved for people to be happy, so as Marie would say We're gonna have a party!. Arrangements entrusted to: Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 729 S. Edgewood Ave.
