Vida Lee Tullis "Mamaw" Elkins, 96 of Vivian, LA passed away November 10, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Vivian, LA officiated by Rev. Richard Beeman. Burial will follow at Vivian Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, the 12th at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home in Vivian.

Mrs. Elkins was born March 17, 1917 in Gibsland, LA to Alvin and Addie Maud Tullis and was a resident of Vivian for 90 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vivian where she was a member of the Heaven Bound Singers and the J.O.Y. Sunday school class. She was preceded in death by her husband Sammie A. Elkins, her parents, her brother AG Tullis and Hershel Tullis, and her grandson Quinn Neil Elkins. She is survived by her children; Jimmy A. Elkins and wife Marie of Houma, LA, Donald L. Elkins and wife Rita of Natchitoches, LA, Jerry Elkins and wife Ruth of Shreveport, LA, Ronald S. Elkins and wife Debby of Vivian, LA, Teresa Elkins Shoptaugh of Shreveport, LA, her 11 grandchildren; Sherry McMahan, Angie Lirette, Randy Elkins, Marti Loomis, Lisa Elkins, Allison Hendry, Jeff Elkins, Shannon McInnis, Carly Slack, Jessica Slack and Ashley Pharr, her 23 great grandchildren; Sam McMahan, Samantha McMahan, Sadie McMahan, Brandon Lirette, Brady Lirette, Jolie Elkins, Miranda Elkins, Dixie Elkins, Chad Loomis, Matt Loomis, Meredith Hendry, Madeline Hendry, Emma Elkins, Chandler McInnis, Holly McInnis, Anastasia Elkins, Ayden Slack, Josey Slack, Eli Slack, Austen Huff, Baily Slack, Dakota Pharr and Ryder Pharr.

The family would like to thank Dr. Stephen Taylor, Dr. Carlisle, Dr. Lincoln and Dr. Watkins and the entire North Caddo Medical Staff and Carol Ann Williamson and Barbara Cooper.

Pallbearers will be Randy Elkins, Jeff Elkins, Shane Slack, Tee Slack, Austen Huff, Baily Slack, Rick Pharr and Mac McMahan.
