Dorothy Corbett age 102 died Sunday January 29, 2012 at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 Wednesday morning, February 1, 2012 at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello where friends may call after 9:30. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello. Rev. Al Polito will officiate at the services.

There are no immediate survivors.

Dorothy Arlene Miles was born July 18, 1909 at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was the daughter of Sidney and Augusto Polzine, Miles. She graduated from the Cedar Rapids High School in 1929. She then went to work for the Stickford Drug Store where she met her future husband Royal. Dorothy Miles and Royal Corbett were married on April 3, 1938 at Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The couple moved to Monticello, where Royal managed the family greenhouse. In 1940 they moved to Shenandoah where they worked in a greenhouse and were floral designers. In 1954 they returned to Monticello and opened Corbett's Floral. They operated the business until 1967 when they retired.

Royal preceded her in death on March 27, 1991.
