Orville was born on Oct. 6, 1918, in Iowa County, the son of Fred and Minnie (Williams) Haas. He married Verus Laufenberg on Oct. 29, 1947, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Montfort.
Orville is survived by his three daughters and a son, of Cross Plains, Mount Horeb, of Dodgeville, and Cobb; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, of Dodgeville, and of Delavan.
Orville was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Verus on May 22, 1998; a brother, Harold Haas; and a sister, Ruth Donahue.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at ST. THOMAS CATHOLIC CHURCH in Montfort with burial in the East Side Cemetery in Dodgeville with Military Honors. Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at the SOMAN-LARSON FUNERAL HOME in Montfort where a Scripture Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
