Shell McElwee was born in Lubbock to Donald and Mary McElwee on Dec. 20, 1963. She departed this world on Jan. 29, 2007, from a sudden illness.
She is survived by her son, Cory and his beautiful children Peyton, Hayden, and Cayden; her wonderful daughter, Averie and her beautiful daughter Kaelie; grandmother, Helen McElwee; mother, Mary McElwee; sister, Tonya McElwee; partner, Duke Hill; and many, many true friends and extended family.
Shell worked for Classone Orthodontics in international sales. She loved her job and she loved her contacts as they too loved her.
Shell truly loved life and showed each of us every day the importance of this. She was an avid bowler and fisherwoman and loved the outdoor life and all the joys the outdoors brought to her.
Shell was a walking smile and had a hug for everyone from the closest family member to an unexpected stranger. Her ability to make everyone welcome into her circle and her zest for life are only two of her special traits.
Happy-go-lucky Shell, "NANA" will be truly missed from this earth.....
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 9 p.m. at Sanders Funeral Home.
