Ethel Mae "Nonnie" Austin, 73, Henderson, passed away at 11:22 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Methodist Hospital.
She was a member of Zion Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Madaline Melton, who died in 2001; and one great-granddaughter, Danielle Jo "D.J." Griffin, who died in 2005.
Survivors include two daughters, Terry Griffin and her husband, Gary and Sharron Martin and her husband, Chuck, all of Henderson; one son, Ray Sandefur and his wife, Cathy, of Henderson; one sister, Frances Ezell of Henderson; one brother, Jim Melton of Tampa Bay, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many honorary grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. Brother Frank Chandler will officiate. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony's Hospice.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Griffin, Benjie Griffin, Zach Griffin, Cody Griffin, Michael League and Marion "Peanut" Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alisha Brantley, Tyler Griffin and Harley Wilkinson.
