Brillion News – Fri., Nov. 6, 1914
Albert – The death of Mrs. Henry Albert last Sunday night produced a feeling of profound sympathy here. The cause of death was heart failure following the birth of a child. A grief stricken husband and eight young children have thus at one fell blow been bereaved of a faithful, loyal and warm hearted wife and affectionate, loving mother. Decedent was only 36 years of age. She was married in 1899 to the husband who now survives her and they have lived since then on the farm a short distance from this village. Her maiden name was Hattie Abitz and has always cherished a large circle of friends by her genial, loving, neighborly dispostion. She was, with her husband, a pious, faithful member of the Evangelical Friedens congregation and of the Frauen Verin thereof. She met the duties and responsibilities of wifehood and motherhood like a good christian woman, courageously and without shirking and when for the last time she entered into the Valley of the Shadow of Death, to emerge no more, she left behind her the proudest memorial of noble womanhood, a husband who will ever cherish her memory and children to hold sacred the lessons learned at mother's knee and for whom she sacrificed so much. The funeral took place on Wednesday, services being conducted by Rev. Weichelt at the house and at the Evangelical Friedens church in this city. The pall bearers were Wm Schultz, Her. Pickruhn, A.B. Haese, Geo. Luber, Robt. Mahnke and Geo. Luecker. The floral offerings were most beautiful. In sympathy for a Neighbor's great bereavement, the local camp of Modern Woodmen attended the funeral in a body, as did also the members of the Frauen Verein of which she had been so loyal a member. The NEWS extends condolences to the bereaved family.
