Mrs. Casoline Brown Barnes, was born in Loudoun County, Virginia, on May 31, 1815. Her parents moved to Marion township, Noble County when she was 6 years old. She was married to Able Barnes, December 1889, who preceded her to the better land in 1897. To this union 10 children were born, one dying in infancy. Seven sons and two daughters survive her; Margaret Davis of Owen County Indiana, Rhoda Gan of McCleary; N B Barnes of Berne; A C Barnes of Mexico, MO; P F Barnes of Salsberry, Indiana; G B Barnes of McCleary; Wilson Barnes of Summerfield; A W Barnes of McCleary; J S Barnes of Pratt Kansas.
She departed this life Sept 7, 1900, at her son Wilson's with whom she has resided for the last 28 years. She was a faithful attendant on the means of grace until ten years ago, when she became so helpless, she was contained to her home until she died. Her mind was clear up to the time of her death which was very sudden. She was 85 years, 3 months and 6 days old. The remains were laid to rest in the Allen's Chapel cemetery by the side of her husband to await the trumpet to sound on the last day.
