Mrs. Caroline Allen, who states birth about Aug. 1836, has a CSA pension application on line in the GA Archives under Early County. She says she married Thomas Allen in 1855. He enlisted in 1861 and served with Company G of the 13th GA Regiment. He was killed at the Battle of White Marsh Island, near Savannah Ga on April 16, 1862. Proof of her own death on 27 April 1923 is included in the papers. See GA Pension Record # 178693-00214 in the GA Archives to read her own words and those of witnesses..
