Lucy Jones CLIFTON Mrs.
Age 47, of 416 Norfolk Avenue (9th Street) in Virginia Beach, died February 16, 1953. at 7:30 am at a Norfolk hospital after an illness of two months. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. JOHN P. JONES of Norfolk and has been a resident of Virginia Beach for 20 years. She was a member of the Virginia Beach Baptist Church. She was president of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 7166 and a past district color bearer of VFW District No 2. She is survived by her husband, JAMES A. CLIFTON; a daughter, FRANCES VIRGINIA CLIFTON and a brother, ELMOND J. JONES, all of Virginia Beach; and a sister, Mrs. EVA FAULKE of Norfolk. Funeral services will be conducted at the Maestas Funeral Home Wednesday, February 18, 1953 at 1:00 pm by Dr W.G. BOND, pastor of the Virginia Beach Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Forest Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers: HENRY MILLER, ALFRED SCOTT, WILLIAM HOLLOMON, EUGENE SATTON, FRANK L. WELLS and JOE L. MILLER.
