William was born January 7, 1876/1877, in Meadow Creek, Millard, Utah to Joseph Thomas Brown and Jane Humble.
He married Ann Elizabeth Beddes on May 6, 1902, in Victor, Teton, Idaho. Together, they had ten children:

Stricken with an attack of heart failure, William George Brown, pioneer of the Rockland Valley and Power county, died suddenly at his home last Thursday. Mr. Brown was sitting on the steps of his home with Mrs. Brown and Mrs. George Nix when he was seized, and death was almost instantaneous.
The deceased was a long time resident of the Rockland Valley. Born on January 7th, 1877, at Meadow Creek, Utah, he had thus attained the age of 55 years when death claimed him. In 1869 he came to Idaho, making the long trip with a wagon train in company with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Brown. In 1902 he was united in marriage to Miss Ann Elizabeth Beddest, to which union eleven children were born. Mr. Brown lived almost his entire life in the Rockland Valley, with the exception of four years spent at Jerome. During that long period of time he took an active interest in church work, and was respected by all who knew him.
Funeral services were conducted from the L.D.S. Church at Rockland Friday afternoon, Bishops Virgil Ralphs and J.W. Collings, officiating. Speeches were given by W.W. Howard and W.H. Philbrick of this city, and interment was made in Rockland cemetery.
