LANCASTER -- Services for Virgil Anderson, 79, of Crab Orchard will be 2
p.m. Thursday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Revs. Billy Pack and Billy
Estes. Burial will be in Paint Lick Cemetery.

He died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born April 4, 1924, in Garrard County, he was the son of the late Edward and
Ida Poynter Anderson. He was a retired farmer, a World War II Army veteran
and a member of Good Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie Frye Anderson; six sons, Claude, Jerry,
Larry, Danny, Eddie and Bobby Anderson, all of Lancaster; four daughters,
Patricia Goins of Louisville, and Charlotte Montgomery, Sue Coleman and Ruby
Lear, all of Lancaster; a brother, Robert Anderson of Lancaster; three
sisters, Mary Boyd of Lancaster, and Berdetta Trent and Parie Yates, both of
Danville; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Poynter, Billy Joe Arnold, Charles Hammonds,
Arthur Gaffney, Shirley Lear and Buddy Rogers. Honorary pallbearers are
Buddy Maupin, Tommy Barnes, Gary Shell, G.B. Shell, Donald Lear and Randy
Prewitt.
