ALLEN H. BARNES
Allen H. Barnes, 68, Attalla Route 3 died this morning at 7 a.m. at the residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. in Collier-Butler Chapel with the Rev. Reuben Barksdale officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Collier-Butler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be all personal friends.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Vela Wood Barnes; a daughter, Miss Lillian M. Barnes, Attalla Route 3; two sons, Frederick A. Barnes, Long Beach, Calif., and Aaron D. Barnes, Attalla Route 3; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Green, Gadsden; Mrs. Jennie McClellan, Anniston, and Mrs. Flonnie Butts, Cullman, and two brothers, Albert Barnes, Gadsden and Steve Barnes, Oneonta.
Mr. Barnes was a native of Blount County, but had been a resident of Etowah County for the past nine years. A retired farmer, Mr. Barnes was a member of the Baptist Church.
The body will remain at Collier Butler Chapel through the hour of service.
