He was a lifelong resident of Lewisburg, a retired pharmacist, owner of Pioneer Drug Store, Lewisburg, for over 50 years, and a graduate of Greenbrier Military School and the Medical College of Virginia's School of Pharmacy. He was a member of Lewisburg United Methodist Church, a former member of the church choir, a member of the Greenbrier Barber Shop Chorus, Lewisburg Elks, the Commandry, Greenbrier Valley Shrine and Beni Kedem Shrine. He was a member and former president of the Lewisburg Rotary Club and an Army Veteran of World War II.
Surviving: wife, Mildred Deitz Crickenberger; daughter, Lucy Bell of Maxwelton, Susan Smead of Lewisburg; eight grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Lewisburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ross Evans, the Rev. Patricia Jarvis and the Rev. Julian Sulgit officiating. Burial will be in Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Lewisburg. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Lewisburg United Methodist Church.
