She was born in Dover on Sept. 2, 1914, to Bernard and Mary (Ford) Davy. She was a lifelong resident of Dover, and had worked at both Miller and Somersworth Shoe Companies.
Among her interests, Marie enjoyed playing cards and bingo, reading mysteries and following the Red Sox. She traveled far and wide in the U.S. and in Europe. She loved the company of her friends at Harvey's Bakery and was herself a wonderful friend to many. Most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by daughter, Mary Jane Fourniel and her husband Claude, of Guyancourt, France; daughter, Carol Ann Keefe and her husband Joseph, of Rollinsford; daughter, Marilyn Wilson, of Plano, Texas; daughter, Lynda Douglas, of Dover; son, Raymond Cook and his wife Mary, of Milton; son, John Cook and his wife, Niki, of Somersworth. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Philip Semprevivo, of Pinkney, Mich., and daughter-in-law, Lili Cook, of Palm Harbor, Fla. Eighteen grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
Marie was predeceased by her husband, Raymond N. Cook, daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Semprevivo, and son, Bernard Cook.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, Jan. 22 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave. in Dover.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at St. Joseph's Church, 150 Central Ave. in Dover at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in New St. Mary's Cemetery in Dover.
