"Thursday, May 9, 1935 Martin Shoop, 80, father of
George, Delbert and John Shoop of Gloversville, died last night at his home in Fonda, where he had lived for the past six years. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 at the residence in charge of Rev. Putnam
Cady of the Fonda Reformed church. Interment will be made in Prospect Hill cemetery in Gloversville. Mr. Shoop, who was the husband of Amy Duell Shoop, was born in Fulton County on September 11, 1854, the son of Nicholas and Barbarie Shoop. He lived in this section for a great part of his life and was a member of the Kingsboro Avenue Presbyterian church. For the past 20 years he had resided
in the vicinity of Fonda and Fultonville. He is survived, by two other sons Ernest and Charles Shoop of Fonda,
a daughter, Mrs. Dayton Jones of Fonda, 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren."
