THE PARIS NEWS, Thursday, July 13, 1995, p. 8A. 'Charlie 'Red' Burns, 62, 2527 Graham, died Friday, July 7 1995, at St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center. Services will be held at I p.m. Friday, July 14, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. S.F. Evans officiating. Maxey Funeral Home will make burial in Restlawn Garden Cemetery. Mr. Burns was born Feb. 24, 1933, in Atlas, a son of Robert and Lurie Baldwin Burns. He attended Lamar County schools and was retired as custodian at First Christian Church. He had served in the Army and was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons, Don Burns of Fresno, Calif., Stacy Burns and Dometreus Burns, both of Paris; four daughters, Charlene Burns Bass of Fresno, Annette Burns and Shelia Burns, both of Paris, and Gloria Gipson of Terrell; three brothers, Willie Burns of Abilene, Herman Burns and Haskell Burns, both of Paris; three sisters, Lois Simpson of Denver, Colo., Thelma Walters and Enna Smith, both of Paris; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Otis Baldwin, J.C. Fuller, Troy Gray, J.W. Morris, Edward Randall and Roosevelt Randall.'
