Obituary:
Mrs. W. H. Haney Sr. Mrs. Elizabeth A. Haney, a former Bayonne resident of 911 Center Street, Garwood, died at her home Sunday afternoon at the age of 70. The daughter of the late Martin and Jane Hogan Gelchion. Mrs. Haney was the wife of William H. Haney, Sr. A native of Jersey City, she lived in Bayonne for about 10 years and then moved to Linden. She had been a resident of Garwood for the past seven years. Mrs. Haney was a communicant of St. Anne's Church in Garwood, and a member of the rosary society there. She was an active worker for the Mt. Carmel Guild of Union County. She is survived by her husband, William Sr.; four sons, Vincent of Westfield, William of Mountainside, and Matthew and Gerard, both police officers in Cranford, two daughters Mrs. Thomas Carey of Mountainside, and Mrs. Frank R. Pfaff of Cranford; one brother Matthew Gelchion of Bayonne, three sisters, Mrs. Frank Parks and Mrs. Jane Ryan of Jersey City, and Mrs. Catherine Morgan of Beacon, New York; 18 grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be Thursday from the Daniel Leonard and Sons for 242 West Jersey Street, Elizabeth at 8:45 a.m. A solemn requiem mass will be offered at St Anne's Church, Garwood at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
