Augustina was born on April 18, 1928 in Clovis, New Mexico to Alexandro and Mary García, the sixth child of eight.
On August 31, 1949, she married the love of her life, José E. Baca. They eventually moved to Belén where they raised their five children. Augustina, "Tina" loved cooking, arts and crafts, and making quilts with her quilting club. Augustina also loved volunteering at the local elementary school attended by her grandchildren, and where she was nicknamed "Disco Grandma".
Tina was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings and two of her sons.
Augustina is survived by her husband, José E. Baca Sr., her daughter, Victoria March and her husband, Brian March, son, José "Joe" E. Baca Jr., daughter, Lorraine Baca, granddaughter, Julie Hill and her companion, Mike Turano, grandson, Aaron Hill and his wife, Christina Hill, great-grandsons, Dominic Giannini and Gino Turano and great-step-grandchildren, Hayley and Kevin Heard.
All services will be at Our Lady of Belén Catholic Church, Belén, NM on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, beginning with a viewing at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow the service. Interment will be at a later time in Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM.
