Bess was the daughter of William L. and Ida A. (Willard) Strickler. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Louise and Don Whitlow. A son William V. DeMoss was killed on Guadalcanal. She had four sisters: Mrs. Leona Lee, Mrs. Edith McMillen, Mrs. Della Harrington, and Ms. Nora Strickler.
