Notes for Helmuth F. Wiese:
As a young man, Helmuth worked as a hired farm hand in Racine county. When he reached age 18 he moved into the city of Racine and obtained employment. In 1931 he worked as an auto mechanic with the Racine Marathon company at 2055 Douglas. This was a garage and service station. In 1933 to 1935 he worked for his brother Louis as an auto mechanic with the Wiese Auto Sales at 2400 Douglas Avenue. After that he moved into the manufacturing establishments in Racine. He worked for several years for the J.I. Case company in the factory as an assembler. He was employed at the Case Company at the time of his marriage to Rose Kaisler in 1935. He spent most of his working life as a machine operator for the Interlake Company. This firm was initially known as the Hoffert Machine Co. this was the same company for which Joseph Barina worked.

Helmuth brother, Louis, lived in Racine before Helmuth did. He originally owned a garage on Douglas Avenue that did auto repair work. The garage also sold used cars. Eventually Louis obtained the franchise for Racine to sell new Nash Motor cars which eventually became American Motors.

At one time in the late 1940's Helmuth went in partnership in a tavern that was located on Main Street just north of the Main street bridge. This business partnership lasted only a few years.

Helmuth was a devoted father, husband and family man. He was a quiet individual who seldom raised his voice or voiced an opinion. He was a careful and frugal man.

Helmuth was a tall and lanky man. He was slim in appearance. He had thin hair which was grey in his later years.
