Margaret Louise (Hargrave) Stains, 60, St. Joseph, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at a St. Joseph hospital. Born Feb. 25, 1938, in Breckenridge, Mo., Mrs. Stains lived in St. Joseph most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Testament Christian Church, St. Joseph. Mrs. Stains was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Stains; a son, James White; her parents, Clarence and Mary K. Hargrave; two brothers, Denny and James Hargrave; and two sisters, Irene Benton and Nancy Oliphant. Surviving: two sons, Michael, Elwood, Kan., and John, St. Joseph; three daughters, Vickie Clark, Crystal Stains and Pamela White, all of St. Joseph; two brothers, Ronnie Hargrave, St. Joseph, and Ricky Hargrave, Cameron, Mo.; a sister, Shirley Mason, St. Joseph; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Service: 11 a.m. Friday, Rupp Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Burial: Mount Auburn Cemetery, St. Joseph. Family visitation: 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
