D’AMICO – FOY.
Miss Jeroma D’Amico, third daughter of Mrs. Anna D’Amico, and Charles Foy, youngest son of Mrs. Mary Foy, both well-known Meyersdale young folks, were united in marriage this (Thursday) morning at 9 o’clock, at high nuptial mass, in SS. Philip and James Catholic Church, by the rector, Rev. H.T. Miller.
Frederick D’Amico, brother of the bride, gave her in marriage. Joan D’Amico, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and Miss Palma Lucente, cousin of the bride, served as bridesmaid. Andrew Rumgay, nephew of the bridegroom, was best man.
The ushers were Frank Lucente, William Rumgay, Frank D’Amico and Harry Walsh, Jr. Miss Evalyn Dahl presided at the organ, playing Mendelssohn’s and the Lohengrin wedding marches. Mrs. Paul Miller sang Millard’s “Ave Maria” during the offertory. Battman’s mass was sung by the church choir.
The bride was attired in ivory taffeta silk, being the same gown worn by her mother at her marriage in Baltimore, Md., 32 years ago. She wore a veil with a real lace cap, and carried a bouquet of calla lilies and baby breath.
The maid of honor wore a dress of brown transparent velvet, with accessories to match, and carried a bouquet of gold chrysanthemums.
The bridesmaid was attired in a wine colored gown of transparent velvet, with accessories to match and carried a bouquet of orchid chrysanthemums.
Both the bride and bridegroom are graduates of the Meyersdale High School and their marriage is the culmination of a romance begun during their school days. Both are well known and highly esteemed. The bridegroom, familiarly known as “Red” Foy, for a number of years has been one of the outstanding baseball, basketball and football players of Somerset County, and at present, is serving as first sergeant in the Civilian Conservation Corps camp located near New Germantown, Perry County, Pa.
The bride, an attractive and popular girl, was employed until recently in Newark, N.J.
Following the ceremony a wedding dinner was served to the immediate relatives of the contracting parties at the home of the bride, covers having been laid for fifty. The bride and groom departed Thursday evening for Perry County, where they will reside in a suite of rooms located near the C.C.C. camp, where Sergt. Foy is stationed.
Guests from out-of-town who attended the nuptials were Mr. and Mrs. Mike DeLuca, Mrs. Joseph Cusiamno and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Bass and little son, Lee, all of Baltimore, Md.; Mr. and Mrs. A. Fiorentino of Elkins, W. Va.; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fiorentino, of Cumberland, Md.; Miss Clara Bischieldo, of Mt. Savage, Md., and Mike Serluca, of Rockwood.

Foys Celebrate golden anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Foy of Meyersdale celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Green Gables Resturant in Jennerstown with their family.
Charles "Red" Foy and Jeroma "Mickey" D'Amico were married Nov. 30, 1933, at SS Philip and James Roman Catholic Church in Meyersdale by the Rev. Howard Miller.
Charles Foy is the son of the late Samuel and Mary Foy.
Jeroma (D'Amico) Foy is the daughter of the late Charles and Annie D'Amico.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Foy are the parents of four children. The Foys have 22 grandchildren.
Foy is a retired state inspector. He served in the Navy during WWII abroad the battleship USS New Jersey. His hobbies include collecting guns and target shooting.
Mrs. Foy is retired from the Meyersdale School District. She likes to travel and enjoys reading.

Born Aug. 16, 1910, in Meyersdale, a daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Arena) D'Amico. Also preceded in death by infant son, William; a brother, Fred; and two sisters, Anna Mary and Frances.
Survived by her husband Charles E. Sr.; and these children: Charles E. Jr., Atlanta, Ga.; Mrs. Barbara F. Caroff, Johnstown; Mrs. Mary Frances Godri, Pittston; and Mrs. Teresa L. Isenman, Somerset; 23 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. A sister of : Philip D'Amico, Mt. Savage, Md.; Anthony D'Amico, Mrs. Joan Keating and Mrs. Rose Weber, all of Mechanicsburg; Mrs. Rita Huth, Valrico, Fla.; and Mrs. Celia Mahone, Lady Lake, Fla.
She was a member of Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church, Meyersdale, and the Ladies' Guild of the church. She was a retired manager of Meyersdale Area Schools cafeteria.
Friends will be received 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church with the Rev. James F. Bunn officiating. Interment, church cemetery.
