Margaret "Margie" Nellie (Rath)(James) Ertman, was born Nov. 17, 1914, in Kay County, Oklahoma to the parents of Ervin Charles and Laura Luella (Haun) Rath.
She grew up in the Kay and Grant counties of Oklahoma. At the age of 6 years old, she moved in with her grandmother, Nellie Rath to help care for her after the death of Jacob, her grandfather. She helped with chores on the farm.
On Aug. 16, 1933, she married Floyd Willard James, Sr. in Alva, Woods, Oklahoma. They had 2 sons and 1 daughter: Floyd Willard,Jr., Lee Allen, and Ervalyn "Gus" James.
They moved to California.
May 6, 1956, Margie married Joseph "Joe" Ertman in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they lived extensively in the California area to be near their families.
After the death of Margie, her daughter Ervalyn, son-in-law, and 2 grandsons, took the ashes of Margie and Joe and scattered them over the Nevada desert.
