Dennis E. Hunter, 83, of Groves, Texas, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas.

He was born May 13, 1928 in East Texas to Jarvis Hunter and Lessie Smith Hunter.

Dennis had lived in Groves for over 62 years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Groves. He was a retired operator from Jefferson Chemical.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 16, 2012 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Dr. Joe Worley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann Hunter and daughter, Lisa Charell Hunter.

Dennis is survived by his daughter, Denise Gaspard of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, Stacie and Shane Sarver; and great granddaughter, Elizabeth Sarver.
