Margaret Wendt
Margaret B. Wendt, age 97, of Eau Claire, passed away Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at Clairemont Nursing and Rehabilitation, Eau Claire, Wis.
She was born Sept. 7, 1907, in Duluth, Minn., to Miner and Ida (Korlin) Beals. Her family moved to Eau Claire in 1914. She married Fred Wendt March 30, 1928, in Eau Claire. She worked at Clairemont Meat Products and Presto during WW II. She taught Sunday school for 22 years at Grace Lutheran Church. She lived in the London Square Apartments for many years. Margaret enjoyed fishing, hiking, playing cards and visiting with friends. She especially loved having her grandchildren spend time with her at the cottage in Holcombe.
She is survived by daughter, Beverly (Dale) Neilan, Farmington, Minn.; grandchildren, Dale (Dot) Neilan, Dennis (Barb) Neilan, Jerrilyn Voght, Gary Neilan, Michael Neilan and Jamie Acterman; three great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Leona Whinnery of Eau Claire, Lois Waldock, Woodbury, Minn., Dorothy Easterson of Washington and Hazel "Randy" Noeleck of Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; son, Jerry; grandson, Jeff Wendt; brother, Marvin Beals; sisters, Gertrude Rude, Jessie Johnson and Laura Devlin.
A memorial service will be for Margaret at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at Prock Funeral Home with Rev. Rolf Nestingen officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
