Obituary

Enoch Flemming Metcalf was born July 31, 1843 in St. Francois County,
Missouri.

He enlisted in the Civil War for the Southern cause at the age of seventeen in 1861.

In 1868 he married Miss Amanda White Bryan and to this union six
Children were born: Jennie Kidd, deceased, Lou Earpe and Bennie Metcalf of Bluff Dale, Texas, Charley Metcalf of Butler, Lydia Littlepage of Dallas, Texas and Lara Kiker , deceased. Mrs. Bryan Metcalf died April 12, 1880 in Morgan Mill, Texas.

In 1883 he married Miss Julia F. Kiker in Erath County, Texas and to this union seven children were born. Basye, deceased, Joe and Ruby Burkhart of Butler, Amanda Richardson and Pearl Burkhardt Of Zybach, Tex., Montie McBurney of Oklahoma City and Eula Oneal of Butler.

He leaves to mourn his wonderful life ten living children, all at his bedsie when he passed away, and thirty-three grandchildren and seventeen great-grand children.

He died at his home at 3:15 p.m. Thursday Sept. 19, 1929 at the age
Of 86 years, 1 month and 19 days. He was an affectionate husband, a
kind father and a friend to all.
