Mr. Trammell D. Johns, 93, of Dalton, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ouida Howell Johns; son, Trammell E. Johns; grandson, Erik Johns; great-granddaughter, Jaida Drew Johns; brothers, Gordon Johns and Hubert Johns; and son-in-law, Marvin P. Williamson.

Trammell was a deacon of Center Point Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughters, Glenda Self and Jane Williamson, both of Dalton; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Carolyn Johns of Dalton and Jimmy and Sheila Johns of Sugar Valley; grandchildren, Bill Self, Amy Harris, April Self, Krista Mulcahy, Kerrie Martin, Jennifer Williamson and Ian Johns; sisters and brother-in-law, Annie Ruth Wyrick and Doris and Marvin Grant, all of Dalton; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Center Point Baptist Church with the Rev. George Ross and the Rev. Matthew Futch officiating with the deacons of the church being honorary pallbearers.

Burial will be in the Center Point Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home today from 5 to 8 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Center Point Baptist Church, 416 Center Point Dr., S.E., Dalton, GA 30721.
