Thea Fortney, 109 of Viroqua, died Saturday morning, December 31, 2011 at Vernon Manor.
Thea was born April 23, 1902 to Andres and Ingrit (Everson) Krogan on Stump Ridge, Folsom. Thea was united in marriage to Arne Fortney; they spent their lives in the Folsom area, rural Viroqua.
Thea was survived by her children: Eleanor Oftedahl, Molly Mahnke, Almon (Sonja) Fortney, Du Wayne Fortney, and Marcus (Dorothy) Fortney; grandchildren: Kent Oftedahl, Cheryl (Jeff) Sanwick, Michael Mahnke, Scott (Rhonda) Mahnke, and Nolan Fortney; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandson, and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; eleven brothers and sisters; sons-in-law Kenneth Oftedahl and John Mahnke; and granddaughter Jackie Fortney.
