Opelousas- Funeral services for Mrs. Cecile Bessie Guedry Durio, age 79, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 15, 2012, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas.

Interment will follow in the Holy Sepulchre Mausoleum

Mrs. Durio passed away on January 10, 2012, at Opelousas General Health System.

She was a native and longtime resident of Opelousas. She was a member of St. Landry Catholic Church, St. Landry Altar Society, Opelousas Community Choir, and Les Dames d'Etude where she served as President for two terms. Her passion in life was music.

She is survived by her husband, Glyn Roy Durio of Opelousas; two sons, Michael Durio of Phoenix, AZ; and Bryan Durio and wife, wife, Laura Durio of Lawrenceville, GA; two daughters, Dorothy Collins of Baton Rouge; and Ann L. Fitzpatrick and husband, Mark of Geneva, Switzerland; and three grandchildren, Margarita Durio, Andrew Fitzpatrick, and Eleanor Fitzpatrick.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah Guedry and Dorothy Pearce Guedry; and one sister, Dorothy G. Pyle.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012, from 4 pm to 10 pm in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Sunday, visitation will continue from 8 am – 1:00 pm in the funeral home.

A Vigil service will be held at 7 pm on Saturday evening in the funeral home.

She was one who loved her family without reservation. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her passion in life was family especially her three grandchildren, her pets and music.
