Marretta P. King, 96, died Tuesday, June 26, in Moravian Hall Square Retirement Community, Nazareth, where she resided.
She was a teacher for many years at Stevens Junior High School, Williamsport, Lycoming County. She was dean of women at Kutztown State College (now Kutztown State University) in the 1960s, an assistant professor at Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, Clinton County, and a teacher in Pottstown and Williamsport. At Lock Haven, she was director of public relations, executive secretary of the alumni association and editor of the alumni news. A 1926 graduate of Swarthmore College, she received a master's degree from Northwestern University
Born in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Joseph J. and Gertrude (Powell) King.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Bethlehem.
Survivors: Nieces, nephews.
Services: To be announced by John F. Herron Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
