Mrs. Samantha Callahan died Friday morning at 9:10 o'clock in St. Mary's hospital, where she had been a patient for the past several months. She fell and fractured her hip, March 13, at her home in this city, and due to her advanced age, gradually became weaker until she passed away.
She was born in Shelby county, November 26, 1861, and was a daughter of John and Sarah Mahoney.
She came to Moultrie county at an early age, and was married to Tom Callahan, who died in 1928. Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the McMullin Funeral Home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial was in Campfield cemetery.
