J. Harold Ashley married Miss Margaret Key on 27 November 1920 at Wichita Falls, Texas. The couple moved to Graham in 1932 from Eastland County, Txas.
Mr. Ashley owned /operated Ashley Refrigeration and Electric service in Graham for 50 years. He opened his business in 1934 and maintained the company until he sold it at the age of 80.
Highly regarded in his profession, Ashley traveled as an electrician consultant and held several patents and was a member of the American Association of Refrigeration Engineers.
He graduated from McKinney High School and studied electrical engineering Virginia Military Institute. After graduation from VMI, he joined his father in the oil business at Burkburnett in 1919. He joined the Texas Electric Service company in Ranger and Eastland. TESCO transferred Ashley to Graham in 1932 and in 1934 he opened his business.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Graham and active in the Rotary club in Graham. Ashley was named a Paul Harris fellow.
Jordan H. Ashley tried to serve in all aspects. He was very dedicated to Graham.
Survived by one son - J. Harold Ashley, Jr.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother - James Robert Ashley; one sister - Martha Roane.
