He was born June 8, 1924, in Walton, the son of William and Marie Krause Beneke. On Dec. 8, 1951, he was married to Betty Frobenius in Lincolnville. Eldon was retired from the Kansas Department of Transportation and was a United States Army veteran serving during World War II. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lincolnville.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the home; sons, Larry (Cindy) and Doug (Linda), all of Salina; three brothers, Emil, of Valley Center, Lynford, of Parsons, and Rodney, of North Carolina; sister, Luella Snelling, of Wichita; and four grandchildren, Brett, Victoria, Bryant and Brittany Beneke.
