Mabel R González, age 88, a resident of Albuquerque went home to God on Thursday, January 5, 2012.
Mabel is survived by her husband, Pedro "Pete" González, three children, Bobby Márquez and his wife, Maria, Georgia Hamilton and her husband, Ron and Pete González Jr. and his wife, Inga, grandchildren, Leah Saavedra, Gary Saavedra and his wife, Sherly, Eric Saavedra and his wife, Elisa, Lori Trembley and her husband, Scott, Kristopher González, Bobbie Márquez and Ricky Goroum, great-grandchildren, Nicole LaBo, Nevin LaBo, Miranda Saavedra, Brenden Kirk, Cierra Saavedra, Landen Goroum, Evan Saavedra, Dylan Trembley, Connor Trembley, brothers, Louie Rivera, Elmon Rivera, Jimmy Rivera, Johnny Rivera, Camilo Rivera Jr. and his wife, Theresa, Ricky Rivera, sisters, Erlinda Bangas and her husband, Gus, Jenny Armijo and her husband, Justin and Josie Vargas and her husband, Richard and Vera Perea and her husband, Fred.
Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, Camilo Rivera Sr. and Antonia Durán.
Mabel was a member of Third Order Franciscans and was also a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Mabel was proactive in caring for the needy in terms of food and clothing. Mabel served as a volunteer at the VA Medical Center. Mabel supported her husband while he was Chapter Commander of the POW. Mabel was very sociable in any environment. Mabel really enjoyed spending time at the casino. Mabel was artistic and loved horse racing. Above all she was a great cook and loved her family and friends unconditionally.
Rosary will be recited on January 9, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5310 Claremont Ave. NE, Albuquerque, with Deacon Pilar reciting. Mass will follow the Rosary at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
