Jacob T. Powell Dies; Funeral Scheduled Today
Jacob Thomas Powell, 83, of 1400 North Eleventh Street died at 7:30 a.m. Friday in a local rest home.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Connally Funeral Home Chapel Rev A. C. Lane will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Powell was born in Alabama. He had lived in Waco 30 years. Mr. Powell was a farmer. He was a member of the South Third Street Baptist Church.
Survivors inclde three sons, Jarrett L. Powell - married Laura Dubuisson, of New Summerfield, W. R. Powell of Athens, and Preston Powell of Houma, LA; two daughters. Mrs. Myrtle Kowis, of Houston and Mrs. Katie Easterwood of 1400 North Eleventh; three sisters Mrs. Detter Forster, Mrs. Bell Forster and Mrs. Riller Morgan, all of Athens: two brothers, Arch Powell and Hubbard Powell, both of Athens: 17 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
