Sister Bessie Aaron was born on November 9, 1941 in Magnolia, Arkansas, to the union of L.C. and Hazel Bell Robinson. In 1946, she relocated to Muskegon Heights, MI, with her parents and siblings. She passed away on September 8, 2011 after a very long battle with Pancreatic cancer. As the owner of Bessie's Alterations for over 25 years, her community work included membership in Zonta, the local Girl Scouts, Habitat for Humanity, Muskegon County Workforce Development, the American Red Cross Board and she also was a volunteer grandparent. She was also honored by the Muskegon Women's Club and inducted into their hall of fame in 2010.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Edward, father, L.C., mother, Hazel and granddaughter, Charmine (Shar-Maine). She leaves behind 2 sisters, Martha (Edward) Pierce, Sr., James Lula Houston; and 3 brothers, Tom (Joyce) Grover and Paul (Beverly) Robinson; brother-in-law, Samuel (Cleo) Aaron; 4 daughters, Ozetta Aaron, Jamesia Robinson, Virginia (Larry) Earvin and Julie (Peter) Shyne; 3 granddaughters, Amika Sharp, Angelica Robinson, and Selah Shyne; 8 great-grandchildren, Anthony, Aaron, Christian Akim, Angeloria, JaQuan, Ann Marie, Aishyia and Terrence, Jr. She also leaves behind a very dear godson, Alvin Kilgore, his family; special friends, Shirley Burt, Ledora Ward and Debbie Rourke, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and other friends.
