Jack L. Henderson, age 71, of Columbus, died July 17, 2011 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Jack enlisted into the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 and retired after 30 years of service as Command Master Chief, working as a Naval intelligence command specialist. Served aboard 8 carriers and stationed in Portugal for 3 years with the embassy. Graduate of Capital University with degree in Theology.
Preceded in death by parents Earl and Lonnie Henderson, sisters Maebelle Stubblefield and Nancy Brooks.
Survived by wife of 44 years, Norma Henderson; step-son, Doug Monroe; step-grandchildren, Jonathan Monroe and Aubrey Monroe; nieces and nephews from Texas; other relatives and friends.
Interment with military honors at Fernwood Cemetery.
