Manford Jesse Stone 91, of Columbus, KS died 1pm Wednesday January 4, 2012 at his home following an illness.

Manford was born January 26, 1920 in Ozark, MO the son of David and Mae Forgey Stone. Manford lived in Columbus most all his life.

On March 13, 1963 he married Bonnie Tillman in Columbus , KS; she survives at the home. Manford worked for the Cherokee County Highway Department for 30 years as well as a farmer all his life.

Survivors include his wife; sons Steve Stone and wife Kim of Oswego, KS, Scott Stone of Columbus, KS and Jack Gearhart of Columbus, KS; grandson Travis Gearhart and wife Michelle and a granddaughter Autumn Stone; sisters Judy Gleason of Columbus, KS and Billie June Robinson of Parsons, KS and his loving dog Sam.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Betty Nell and Marianne Larson; brothers David (Dude) Stone, Jack Stone, Lemmie Stone, Ellis Stone and Ray Stone.

Funeral Services will be 10am Monday January 9, 2012 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus , KS with Rev. Dennis Johnson and Chaplain Jeff D. Martin officiating.

Burial will follow at the Columbus City Cemetery in Columbus, KS. Family will receive friends from 6-7pm Sunday, January 8, 2012 at the funeral home; friends may call after 1pm Sunday.

In lieu of flowers the familyask expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the Sherwin Christian Church.

Friends may drop off or mail memorials to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 611 S. East Ave. Columbus, KS 66725. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Bath Naylor Funeral Home of Columbus, KS.
