MACON - Williamette Currie Burgess, 90, died Friday, April 22, 2005. Funeral services will be held at 2P.M. Monday at Vineville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Dr. William L. Hardee will officiate. The family will greet friends from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home and requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Washington Memorial Library for the Blind, 1180 Washington Avenue, Macon 31201. -A native of Laurens County, she moved to Macon in the early 1940's. Mrs. Burgess retired from Sears after 25 years as manager of children's fashions. She was a member of Vineville Baptist Church, the daughter of the late Rollin Elmer and Annie Lou Evans Currie and the widow of Harold T. Burgess. -Mrs. Burgess is survived by her grandsons, Clayton C. Rapraeger of Atlanta, Cory Dean Rapraeger of Macon and his girlfriend, Rachael Ford; great-granddaughter, DeLana Lynn Ford-Rapraeger of Macon; sister, Myrtle Currie Avery of Glenwood; nieces, Carol Currie Martuscello and Cherrie Currie Smith of Dublin, Jean Currie Rich of Eatonton, Pattie Clark Lampru of Roswell and Jo Ann Burgess Padgett of Cochran; nephews, Larry Avery of Glenwood, Johnny Currie of Milledgeville, Al Clark of Birmingham, Tim Currie of Athens and Don Kilgo of Athens; lots of great-nieces and great-nephews.
