BUTTZ
Weston Daniel Buttz, 69, died June 10, 1993, at his home in Chariton. He had lived in Lucas County for the past 45 years.
Weston was the son of John Valentine and Leah Frances (Sulser) Buttz. He was born Nov. 7, 1923 at Confidence, Iowa. Weston was married to Floy Dyer, of Bethlehem, June 5, 1943.
Weston was a veteran of World War II. He served as a baker with the US Navy from 1942 through 1945. He was employed by Ream's, Wakefield's and Jack's Furniture Store until retiring in 1979.
Weston was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Floy, and two brothers.
Survivors include six daughters: Permelia Hamilton of Chillicothe, Mo., Dianna Kuiken of Yerington, Nev., Virginia Pellegrino of Chariton, Nancy Chiri of Williamson, Becky Adams of Chariton and Debbie Hill of Cedar Rapids; one son, Eddie Buttz of Corydon; a brother, Archie Buttz of West Des Moines; and three sisters, Pansy Teller of Collins, Goldie McCarty of Corydon, and Darlene Mason of Maxwell.
Also surviving are six sons-in-law; one daughter-in-law; one brother-in-law; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 14, at the Fielding Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Burial was in the Chariton Cemetery.
Serving as bearers were John Buttz, Jeff Jones, Jason Evan, Jimmie Watson, Harold Mason and James Buttz. Honorary bearers included Gary Hill, Pete Chiri, Larry Hill, Gene Adams, Andrew Perkins, Aaron Perkins, Don Hamilton, Jeremy Hill and John Pellegrino.
