DENNIS G. KING SR. 77 - of Pleasantville, departed this life and returned to his Creator and Lord on November 10th at Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gladdis (Rawlings) King and George King Sr, and sisters Millicent and Angela.
He is survived by two brothers George of Hartford, CT, and Victor King of Atlantic City. Three sisters Gloria Thomas of Pittsburg, PA, Constance Green of Baltimore, MD and Shirley Cobb of Chester, PA. He is also survived by two sons, Dennis G. King Jr. and wife Timeka K. King of Dover, DE, and George D. King of New York, NY. Father to Earl and Darryle White of Egg Harbor Township and Dorine Haithcock of Pleasantville, NJ. Dennis was also adored by numerous grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Dennis was born in Pleasantville. After graduating from High School he joined the Air Force in 1956, where he attended training in F, E, Warren AFB, Wyoming for Communications. After completing his military service he became a Roofer and a member of the Roofers Union, Local 30. He then retired in 1992. Since his retirement he has been volunteering and helping people whenever they were in crisis. His infamous words and last words "I'll be right there".
Memorial services to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 9:30 AM at Serenity Funeral Home on 414 South Main St. Pleasantville, New Jersey 08232.
Interment will immediately follow at Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Estell Manor.
