The daughter of Thomas & Mary (Underwood) Cook, Mary married:
1) Uriah Carson in Jun 1766 in Rowan Co NC; he died in 8 Dec 1780; they had six children: four sons and two daughters.
2) Caleb Sumner on 9 Oct 1782 at Tom's Creek Meeting House, Surry Co NC; they had four children: one son and three daughters.

Mary's father was born into the Quaker faith in Northwich, Cheshire England.

On 25 Mar 1809, Caleb, Mary and their children, were received in OH from NC:
(Old) Fairfield MM, Leesburg, Highland Co OH -
"1809, 3, 25. Caleb & son, Caleb, received on certificate from Westfield MM, N.C., dtd 1808, 1, 12."

"1809, 3, 25. Mary & daughters, Mary & Tabitha, received on certificate from Westfield MM, N.C., dtd 1808, 11, 12."

Six days later Mary died, aged 60 yrs, of unknown causes. Daughter Amy, aged about 16 or 17 yrs at the time, was not named as being received into the church. No further records of her have been found to date.

A few years after Mary's death, her husband Caleb was granted a certificate to Fairfield MM in Hendricks Co IN.
