STATESBORO -- Inman W. Akins, 80, died Jan. 2 at Heritage Inn Nursing Home in Statesboro.

He was a lifelong resident of Bulloch County. He was a retired plumber and electrician and an Army veteran of World War II. He was the widower of Annie Hotchkiss Akins and was a Primitive Baptist.

SURVIVORS: two sons, Wendell A. and Ed Akins, both of Statesboro; two sisters, Clyde Cannon and Irene Edenfield, both of Statesboro; a sister-in-law, Betty Akins of Statesboro; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

VISITATION: 5 p.m. today at Joiner-Shepard Funeral Home in Statesboro.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Joiner-Shepard Funeral Home, burial in Upper Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
