Dorothy B. "Granny" Wagner, 98, ManorCare Health Services, formerly of 3525 Windsor Ave., No. 224 and 22980 Winding Timber Trail, New Vienna, Iowa, died at 5:50 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at ManorCare Health Services, of natural causes.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at St. Boniface Church, 7401 Columbus St., New Vienna. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery, New Vienna. To celebrate Dorothy's life, friends may visit from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St.

She was born on March 26, 1913, in New Vienna, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Schulte) Boge.

Dorothy "Granny" was the monarch of the family, and her children always came first. She worked various jobs in her life.

She was a devout Catholic, always believing in the power of prayer. As a family, we know God has accepted her into his kingdom for eternity.

Dorothy's passions were sewing, quilting and her flower and vegetable gardens. Her yard always looked like it belonged in a "Beautiful Home" magazine. She will be missed by her family and friends.

Surviving are her children, Elizabeth (Ronald) Caliri, of Egan, Minn., Leslie (Dianne) Wagner, of Peosta, Iowa, Lizabeth (Allen) Picker, of East Dubuque, Ill., and Robert (Lauranne) Wagner, of New Vienna; her grandchildren, Colleen, David, Greg and Mary Norris, all of Minnesota, Shane (Jessi) Picker, of East Dubuque, John Wagner, of New Vienna, and Alana (Mike) Gogel, of Dyersville, Iowa; and her great-grandchildren, Mason Norris and Dominic Norris Carlson, both of Minnesota, and Zachary and Zane Picker, of East Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; and five brothers.
