The funeral service of the late J. C. Lawson, who was fatally shot Monday night while standing in front of his store in Ivanhoe, dying in less than half an hour, was arranged for this afternoon at 3 o'clock. The services will be conducted from his late residence by the Rev. Anderson of Fries, a minister of the Baptist church. The body will then be taken in charge for interment by the local nest of Owls and Odd Fellows, of which orders, as well as Pulaski Lodge No. 1067 B.P.O. Elks, he was a member.
Mr. Lawson would have been fifty-one years old on June fifteenth of this year. He was a native of Stokes County, North Carolina and came to Ivanhoe about twenty-three years ago in very moderate circumstances. In the course of years, he has developed a paying business and leaves considerable money.
He is survived by his wife and six children as follows: Mrs. C. R. Huddle of Ivanhoe; Misses Ellen and Inez Lawson of Ivanhoe; Walter Lawson and J. C. Lawson, Jr. of Ivanhoe; Mrs. L. B. Hurd of Pulaski. He is also survived by a sister and four brothers who are not residents of this section.
