British Prime Minister, 4th Duke of Devonshire. He was born at Hardwick Hall, Ault Hucknall Parish, Derbyshire, England, the seat for generations of the Cavendish family. (Hardwick Hall is close to Doe Lea in Ault Hucknall Parish.) He became a prominent Whig politician, serving as Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, and from November 1756 to May 1757, as Prime Minister of England.
